Trashbagging is an independent US guide to trash pickup, recycling schedules and local waste rules.
Trashbagging answers one question first, wherever you live: who collects at your address, on what day, and what changes on a holiday. Every state and Washington, DC has a hub that names the official agencies; city and county pages add the full local answer: the pickup-day lookup, carts, the recycling list, bulk pickup, holiday changes and drop-off sites. We never invent a weekday, and every fact points to the official source.

We write for residents first — homeowners, renters, people who just moved, apartment households and rural addresses that self-haul. Property managers and municipal staff can use the same pages.
Every state has a page with its official agencies, its statewide programs and the collection pages of its largest cities. City and county pages are added largest cities first, each built from the city’s own pages. Your pickup day always comes from the official lookup for your address.
We do not collect your trash. We do not file a 311 ticket. An editorial correction is not a missed-pickup report.
How we source a fact
Published facts need a scoped primary source: the municipality, department, authority or contracted hauler for operational details; a state agency for statewide rules.
A page changes when the official source changes, and every correction is checked against that source.
A ZIP code or a city name does not decide who collects at an address: city limits, county areas and hauler territories cut across them. For the day itself, every page links the official lookup.
How corrections work
Use Report a Correction for a wrong upcoming collection date, an unsafe disposal instruction or a wrong assigned provider. That form is not a municipal missed-pickup complaint.
An editor checks the official source before changing a public page. Submissions carry the statuses new, read, archived and spam. None of them means approved or published.
A correction note on a news story explains a factual change. We do not silently backdate a new article to simulate history. Past corrections are listed in the Corrections log.
Advertising
Trashbagging sells labeled advertising around a free resident guide. Collection days, accepted materials and assigned haulers stay editorial facts, and money does not change those answers.
Paid placement cannot buy a verified-schedule label or a changed pickup day, the assigned provider shown as the answer on a city or county page, removal of a correction or a competing listing, or household-level targeting. Sponsored links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, and directory promotions stay marked as paid. We review a sponsored claim against a public source before publication.
We do not publish audience size, traffic or a rate card until those figures are measured on this site. Commercial enquiries go through Advertise with Us; submitting that form does not book space or take payment.
