What US cities and counties charge for household trash pickup, and where the bill shows up.
Trash service cost by city runs from nothing on the property tax bill to more than $100 a month for a large cart. The city council, the hauler’s contract or a state rate board sets the rate; the same address can be billed on the water or utility bill, on the property tax bill, or by the hauler itself. Each entry carries the adopted rate and its unit, from the city’s own rate page.
