Waste Connections: reviews, rating and service info

Waste Connections is a North American hauler. A brand is not an assignment; check who holds your city’s contract.

Waste Connections calls itself one of the leading solid waste collection companies in North America, with locations across the United States and Canada. It collects at a home only where its local company holds the city or county contract or franchise, or where you subscribe. Holidays and delays vary by service area. Look up your address in its locations and pickup schedule tools, then confirm on your city or county page.

Where the company collects

The company’s own claim is locations across the United States and Canada; its site gives no national list and asks for your location instead. Service is local, and local pages describe their own contracts. For example, the company says Waste Connections of Missouri serves St. Louis County Districts 1, 3, 4 and 8 and a dozen nearby towns. Those local claims apply only to the places named.

How to tell if it is your hauler

Enter your location on the Waste Connections locations page to reach the local service page for your area. That shows that the company works nearby, not that it collects on your street. Your city or county page says who is assigned. In unincorporated King County, Washington, the county’s hauler finder names the assigned company, which may or may not be Waste Connections.

Holiday schedules and service alerts

There is no national holiday table. The pickup schedule page asks existing customers for an address to show their schedule, and for a postal code to show the local holiday schedule. The WasteConnect mobile app sends collection reminders and service alerts for delays, and can look up how to dispose of an item. Local pages may post their own notices.

What they collect

Waste Connections offers residential trash pickup with weekly or monthly options, recycling in many of the areas where it collects trash, and residential dumpster rental. What each area accepts is set locally; the company’s own local page says acceptable items vary by location and to ask the local office. In the St. Louis example, residential service includes weekly trash and recycling, seasonal yard waste and a monthly bulky pickup.

Customer service

The Customer Service page offers Pay My Bill, Missed Pickup, Broken Container and schedule options, and a contact form. The bulk pickup page gives one number for bulk requests, 844-708-7274; local offices list their own numbers and hours. Existing customers can use My Account for billing.

What this is not

A Waste Connections truck, flyer or holiday notice from another area does not make the company your hauler or set your holiday rule. Where your city collects its own trash or has hired a different company, the company’s tools do not apply.

Check the city first: States & Cities. In unincorporated King County the county finder names the assigned company.

Sources and corrections. Each listing links the organization’s official website and its primary source page, with the date we last verified them; contacts and rules are copied from those pages, not from a brand’s advertising. Add a Service if an organization is missing, or Suggest an Edit if a listing is wrong. Submissions are reviewed against the official source before anything is published.
