About this site
The city’s transfer-station page identifies a building-materials reuse area specifically at 27th Avenue. Ask the scale-house attendant about it before unloading gently used cabinets, windows or plumbing fixtures. Local nonprofit Stardust Building Supplies collects the accepted reusable items; the city’s published list gives the condition requirements.
Phoenix also sends its green organics to the 27th Avenue Compost Facility. The transfer station, reuse area and compost operation are separate services: an item suitable for ordinary disposal is not automatically acceptable for reuse or composting.
Rules at both Phoenix transfer stations
The city’s transfer-station rules ↗ cover customer eligibility, free monthly allowances, gate charges, secured loads and prohibited waste. Check those rules and the fields below before travelling; a load requiring a cash deposit cannot use a card for that deposit.
