El Paso Northeast Citizen Collection Station

Northeast El Paso drop-off station on Hondo Pass Drive, the site of a $3.9 million city construction contract.

El Paso Northeast Citizen Collection Station hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 4501 Hondo Pass Dr, El Paso, TX 79924. In 2024 City Council took up a $3,929,850 contract with Mirador Enterprises, Inc. to build a new Hondo Pass Citizen Collection Station here, a drop-off site for household waste, hazardous material, bulky items and recyclables.

Serves: El Paso trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

Northeast accepts the same materials as every city station: household trash, household hazardous waste with a 5-gallon monthly cap on paint and motor oil, bulky items, recyclables, used electronics, and turkey grease and cooking oil. Construction and demolition debris, commercial or contractor loads and commercial or leaking electronics are refused. The contract describes the new station for the same four streams: household waste, hazardous material, bulky items and recyclables.

About this site

City Council’s July 16, 2024 agenda carried the award of solicitation 2024-0380, “Hondo Pass Citizen Collection Station,” to Mirador Enterprises, Inc., for an estimated $3,929,850. The construction contract runs 295 consecutive calendar days and is paid from the Environmental Services Department’s fiscal year 2021 capital projects. The council file places the site in City Council District 4. The city’s pages give no opening date for the new station; until they do, the station keeps the hours and rules listed here.

Rules at every Citizen Collection Station

The stations take El Paso residents only, not businesses or contractors, and each visitor shows a station pass, a current water bill and an ID at the same address. Tool loans, mulch and reusable paint are city-wide programs; the full rules are on the El Paso Environmental Services page.
