Eureka Drive Trash and Recycling Center
A Miami-Dade trash and yard waste drop-off on SW 184th St, one of seven centers that take cardboard for recycling.
Eureka Drive Trash and Recycling Center, at 9401 SW 184th St, has hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. The county names it one of seven Trash and Recycling Centers that take flattened cardboard year-round, in bins set aside for it, and one of the centers that take used electronics. It is not on the county’s list of centers collecting used motor oil.
Serves: Miami-Dade County trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
Household trash, tree and yard cuttings, up to 3 cubic yards of construction debris a day and up to 3 cubic yards of fence, car tires (up to four), appliances, mattresses, electronics and cardboard. Cardboard is taken flattened, in the designated bins, at only seven of the county’s centers. After the 2025 holidays the county named this one of 11 centers taking clean, decoration-free natural Christmas trees, which were chipped into mulch for service-area customers. Food and kitchen garbage are refused, and used motor oil is not taken here.
About this site
The county’s service page, the county budget and the Village of Palmetto Bay all give the center a Palmetto Bay address; the county’s own GIS layer of solid waste sites lists the same address as unincorporated Miami-Dade, so the municipality is not settled. The adopted FY 2025-26 budget and multi-year capital plan carry a $1.529 million program for the site: an entrance sign, a perimeter fence, paving, impact-resistant windows, a used oil collection station, stormwater improvements, larger unloading bays and work on the attendant’s house. DSWM said in November 2024 that it planned to add used oil collection at this center, and the service page still does not list it for oil.
Rules at every county center
The centers are for DSWM waste fee customers, and the attendant scans a Florida driver’s license or ID against the address list. The fee, the vehicle limits and the full rules are on Miami-Dade Solid Waste.
