Ezell Pike Convenience Center
Metro Nashville convenience center on Ezell Pike, one of two that take household hazardous waste and tires.
Ezell Pike Convenience Center hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 3254 Ezell Pk in the southern part of Davidson County. It is one of only two Metro centers, with East Convenience Center, that take household hazardous waste, free, and one of only two that take tires. Residents made 34,575 visits here in 2024.
Serves: Nashville trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
It takes bagged trash; recycling, including glass, which curbside carts do not take; food scraps, soiled paper and BPI-certified compostables; bulk items; scrap metal; electronics, including TVs up to 80 inches wide; and mattresses and box springs. Two things set it apart: household hazardous waste, up to 15 gallons or 100 pounds a month, and tires, four a month. Metro lists East Convenience Center and Ezell Pike as the only sites for both; Anderson Lane and Omohundro Convenience Centers are not listed for either. It does not take asbestos, brick, concrete, dirt, rock, brush and leaves, car parts other than tires, fireworks, gas tanks, pallets or roofing shingles, and it turns away latex paint, propane tanks, ammunition, explosives, medical waste, medications and business waste.
About this site
The Metropolitan Council approved the property at 3254 Ezell Pike for use as a convenience center in July 2014, by Resolution RS2014-1159, to give residents in the southern part of Davidson County closer waste and recycling access. The Davidson County Solid Waste Region Board’s progress report for 2024 lists the site under state permit CCC190000566 and counts used oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, lead-acid batteries and cooking grease among the materials it handled that year. It is staffed during the posted hours, unlike Metro’s recycling drop-offs, which are unstaffed and open around the clock.
Rules at every Metro convenience center
The four convenience centers are for Davidson County residents, who show a Tennessee driver’s license with a county address and unload their own load. Eligibility, the per-load fees and the Metro holiday closures are the same at each site; the full rules are published by Nashville Department of Waste Services.
