Golden Glades Trash and Recycling Center

A Miami-Dade drop-off on NW 160th Street, one of three centers taking used motor oil, electronics and cardboard.

Golden Glades Trash and Recycling Center, at 140 NW 160th Street, keeps hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. The county’s service page lists it as one of three centers that take used motor oil, used electronics and cardboard, with Moody Drive and Sunset Kendall, and a June 2025 county release names it among the seven centers with year-round bins for flattened cardboard.

Serves: Miami-Dade County trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

The center takes household trash, tree and yard cuttings, up to 3 cubic yards of construction debris and up to 3 cubic yards of fence a day, car tires (up to four), appliances, mattresses, used motor oil, electronics and cardboard. Food and kitchen garbage are refused. Cardboard is flattened and goes in the designated bins, one of seven centers where the county offers that year-round. After Christmas 2025 the county named it one of the 11 centers taking clean, decoration-free natural Christmas trees, which were chipped into mulch offered to service-area customers in spring 2026.

About this site

The county’s mailing address for the center is Miami 33169, the county GIS layer of solid waste sites places it in unincorporated Miami-Dade and marks it county-owned, and the City of Miami Gardens describes it as one of three trash and recycling centers located inside the city. The pages do not agree, so which jurisdiction it stands in is unsettled. The county’s adopted FY 2025-26 budget and multi-year capital plan carries a $1.133 million capital program for the center (program 2000001362): entrance signs, fencing, paving and striping of the parking lot, and impact-resistant windows. The budget lists that program at 140 NW 160 St in Commission District 2. It is budgeted work, not finished work.

Rules at every county center

The 13 centers are open to Miami-Dade waste fee customers, and the attendant scans a Florida driver’s license or ID against the service address list. A customer may use any center in the network rather than the nearest one. The full county rules are on the operator’s listing, Miami-Dade Solid Waste.
