Northeast Philadelphia Sanitation Convenience Center

Philadelphia’s sanitation drop-off center at the corner of State Road and Ashburner Street in the Northeast.

Northeast Philadelphia Sanitation Convenience Center has no street number in the City’s listings, only the corner of State Road and Ashburner Street. Its hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and it is closed on City holidays. The City’s hazardous waste collection days for the Northeast are held on the same road, at 8401 State Rd.

Serves: Philadelphia trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

The City publishes one materials list for all six of its centers, so the Northeast center takes what the others take: household trash, recyclables, yard waste in paper bags, bulk items and appliances, tires, electronics, unwrapped mattresses, hardened latex paint, fluorescent bulbs and batteries, within the City’s daily limits. Commercial loads, bricks, rocks, concrete and oil-based paint are refused here, as at the other centers.

About this site

The City’s household hazardous waste events for Northeast Philadelphia use 8401 State Rd., 19136. In 2026 the Northeast was the only area given two of the City’s seven events, on Saturday, April 11 and Thursday, July 9 (Lot 2). No further 2026 event is listed there. The two events still ahead in 2026 are at the Southwest Philadelphia center on October 10 and the Port Richmond center on November 7.

Rules at every Philadelphia Sanitation Convenience Center

The six centers serve Philadelphia residents who bring proof that they live in the city; commercial contractors and commercial loads are turned away. Vehicle and daily limits and holiday closures are set city-wide and listed with the Philadelphia Department of Sanitation.
