Norwood Trash and Recycling Center
A county trash and yard waste drop-off in Miami Gardens, one of three centers that take no white goods.
Norwood Trash and Recycling Center, at 19901 NW 7th Avenue in Miami Gardens, has hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. The county lists it with Chapman Field and Richmond Heights as the centers that take no white goods, and it does not appear on the county’s lists of centers that take used motor oil, used electronics or cardboard. It does take car tires and mattresses.
Serves: Miami-Dade County trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
It takes household trash, tree and yard cuttings, up to 3 cubic yards of construction debris a day and up to 3 cubic yards of fence, along with car tires, up to four, and mattresses. Food and kitchen garbage are refused, and so are white goods: the county names Norwood with Chapman Field and Richmond Heights on that refusal. Used motor oil, used electronics and cardboard belong at other centers, because the county’s lists for those materials do not name Norwood. After December 26, 2025, DSWM named Norwood one of 11 centers taking clean, decoration-free natural Christmas trees, which were chipped into mulch offered to service-area customers in spring 2026.
About this site
County GIS lists the site as county-owned, at 19901 NW 7TH AVE in Miami Gardens, ZIP 33169. The City of Miami Gardens counts three centers inside its limits and calls Norwood the “East” one. The adopted FY 2025-26 budget carries capital program #2000001367 for the center, $771,000 in total program cost, for entrance signs, fencing, paving and striping of the parking lot and impact-resistant windows; the budget plans that work rather than reporting it done. Budget and GIS both place the site in County Commission District 1.
Rules at every county center
The centers are for DSWM waste fee customers, and the attendant scans a Florida driver’s license or ID against the address list. A customer may use any center in the network, not only the nearest. The fees, vehicle limits and holiday closures are set county-wide and listed by Miami-Dade Solid Waste.
