Richmond Heights Trash and Recycling Center

A Miami-Dade drop-off on Boggs Drive that takes flattened cardboard but no appliances, mattresses or Christmas trees.

Richmond Heights Trash and Recycling Center, at 14050 Boggs Drive, is a county drop-off site, and its hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. It is one of seven centers where the county runs year-round cardboard recycling, in designated bins. The county also lists it among the centers that take no appliances and no mattresses, and it is not on the 2025-26 Christmas tree drop-off list.

Serves: Miami-Dade County trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

It takes household trash, tree and yard cuttings, up to 3 cubic yards of construction debris a day and up to 3 cubic yards of fence, up to four car tires, and flattened cardboard in the bins set aside for it. Cardboard is the distinction: the county names seven of the 13 centers for year-round cardboard recycling, and Richmond Heights is one of them. It takes no food or kitchen garbage, no appliances and no mattresses; Chapman Field is the other center the county lists as refusing mattresses. It is on neither the used motor oil list nor the used electronics list, and the county’s 2025-26 Christmas tree drop-off list names 11 of the 13 centers, not Richmond Heights.

About this site

The county’s GIS inventory of solid waste sites places the center on county-owned land in unincorporated Miami-Dade, ZIP 33176, though the county writes the mailing address as Miami, FL 33176. Both the adopted budget and the county’s district layer put the site in County Commission District 9. The FY 2025-26 adopted budget and multi-year capital plan carry $822,000 for the center under capital program 2000001412: an entrance sign, a perimeter fence, paving, impact-resistant windows, stormwater improvements, expanded unloading bays, work on the attendant’s house and a used oil collection station. Those are budgeted plans, not finished work, and the center is not on the county’s used oil list today.

Rules at every county center

The centers are for DSWM waste fee customers, and the attendant scans a Florida driver’s license or ID against the address list. A customer may use any center in the network, not only the nearest one. The eligibility, vehicle and fee rules in full are on the operator’s listing, Miami-Dade Solid Waste.
