ʻEwa Beach Convenience Center
The city drop-off on Geiger Road, on the grounds of the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant in ʻEwa Beach.
The ʻEwa Beach Convenience Center, at 91-1000 Geiger Road, is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily; its hours pause only for Christmas and New Year’s Day. It shares city property with the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant, west of the plant’s main entrance. On weekends and holidays, cars waiting to unload can back up onto Geiger Road, and ENV plans to move the center to a larger area inside the plant property.
Serves: Honolulu trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
At Geiger Road, residents can unload household rubbish, bulky goods such as furniture, mattresses and carpet, large appliances, green waste and whole natural Christmas trees. The center also collects passenger and light-truck tires, household gas tanks, fire extinguishers, car batteries, taped loose rechargeable batteries and e-waste. It has green waste like every city center but Wahiawā. No food scraps, and no phones or GPS units in the e-waste bin.
About this site
ENV’s 2022 environmental assessment places the center on Geiger Road, on the same city property as the Honouliuli plant and west of its main entrance. The assessment says the small unloading area cannot keep up on busy days such as weekends and holidays, when traffic backs up onto Geiger Road, and plans to relocate the center to a larger area within the plant property.
In February 2025 the city sought construction bids for the ʻEwa Convenience Center Relocation (RFB-ENV-1888102), with an estimated cost of $7.5 million; offers were due April 9, 2025.
