North Residential Drop-Off Center

Houston’s North Main drop-off for bulky items, tires and recycling, on the same lot as the city’s Reuse Warehouse.

The North Residential Drop-Off Center, at 9003 N. Main, keeps hours of Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It shares its property with the city’s Reuse Warehouse, which gives away donated building materials and keeps its own hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The drop-off was built for 10 vehicles unloading at once, with room for recycling traffic besides.

Serves: Houston trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

North Main takes mattresses, furniture (two large items), appliances, refrigerators tagged to show the refrigerant was removed, tree waste, junk and recyclables. It also takes 5 quarts of motor oil and passenger tires, five a visit and 10 a month. Garbage, TVs, paint, chemicals, dirt and concrete are turned away.

About this site

The city’s facility map lists the site as the North Main Residential Drop-Off Center, 9003 North Main, Houston, TX 77022. It was built with a concrete ramp into 40-cubic-yard roll-off boxes and a service building.

The Reuse Warehouse on the same property can be reached at 281-814-3324 or reuse.warehouse@houstontx.gov. It is closed Sunday and Monday, like the drop-off.

Rules at every Houston drop-off center

Houston Public Works’ Solid Waste Management Division runs all six centers under one set of rules for Houston residents: ID and proof of address, monthly visits and vehicle size. The full rules and the other five sites are on the Houston Solid Waste Management listing.
