Waimānalo Convenience Center
Waimānalo’s city drop-off on Hihimanu Street, with bins for green waste, Christmas trees, tires and e-waste.
The Waimānalo Convenience Center is at 41-241 Hihimanu Street, phone (808) 259-7182. Its hours run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with closures only on Christmas and New Year’s Day. It takes green waste and whole natural Christmas trees, which the Wahiawā center does not. In March 2025, two overnight fires closed it for a day.
Serves: Honolulu trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
On Hihimanu Street you can leave household rubbish, furniture, mattresses, carpet and large appliances, plus green waste and whole natural Christmas trees free of ornaments and flocking. Passenger and light-truck tires, propane and other household gas tanks, home fire extinguishers, car batteries, taped loose rechargeable batteries and e-waste are also taken. Food scraps are not, and phones and GPS units cannot go in the e-waste bin.
About this site
On the night of March 3, 2025, crews put out two fires at the center, one in a 40-cubic-yard bin and one in a trash compactor. ENV said the cause was not related to city operations. The center reopened on March 5, 2025, on its normal 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule, and the fire debris went to the Kapaʻa Transfer Station.
Rules at every Honolulu convenience center
