West Dade Home Chemical Collection Center
Miami-Dade’s Doral household chemical and electronics drop-off, and the one listed for natural Christmas trees.
The West Dade Home Chemical Collection Center at 8801 NW 58 Street in Doral is one of the two Home Chemical Collection Centers the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management runs, and its hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the 2025-26 season the county named it the only one of the two taking natural Christmas trees, with tree drop-off seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Serves: Miami-Dade County trash pickup and drop-off rules.
What this center takes and what it does not
It takes oil-based and liquid latex paint, pesticides, solvents and pool chemicals; computers, TVs, printers, phones and other electronics; unbroken fluorescent bulbs; propane tanks; empty oxygen tanks; button, rechargeable, lithium-ion and car batteries; aerosol cans; motor oil and oil filters; ink cartridges; and gasoline in up to two 5-gallon cans, 10 gallons in all. Clean, undecorated Christmas trees go in after Christmas and are chipped into free mulch. Business waste is refused, as are RV, forklift and fixed kitchen propane tanks. Pack containers upright in sturdy boxes, lids tight and labeled. Through the Chem Again program the center gives away usable paints and cleaners, first come, first served, and the county publishes a separate inventory of what is on hand at the Doral center.
About this site
The county’s service page and its own news item put the center at 8801 NW 58 Street in Doral. The county’s GIS layer of solid waste sites gives the same center as 8831 NW 58th St with the city listed as unincorporated Miami-Dade and the site county-owned, a solicitation for hazardous-waste services gives 8831 NW 58th Street as well, and the adopted capital plan places the 58 Street facility at 8701 NW 58 St. The FY 2025-26 adopted budget and multi-year capital plan fund a new Home Chemical Collection (HC2) Center there, with drainage work for ongoing flooding and resurfacing and striping to improve vehicle flow, budgeted at $5.906 million in total with spending planned through FY 2027-28. The capital plan and the county’s district layer both place the site in County Commission District 12.
Rules at both Home Chemical Collection Centers
Both Home Chemical Collection Centers take household chemicals and electronics from Miami-Dade County residents, not from businesses, and staff ask for a driver’s license before a vehicle is let in. The rest of the county’s drop-off rules, including the holiday closures, are on the operator’s listing: Miami-Dade Solid Waste.
