West Los Angeles District Yard

A West LA yard that sells Extra Capacity Tags, takes four free tires a year and opens one Saturday a month.

The West Los Angeles District Yard at 2027 Stoner Avenue keeps hours of Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., except City holidays. It is one of six LA Sanitation & Environment district yards that take tires from City residents, and one of five sites the department opens for a free bulky item drop-off one Saturday a month. Parking, including disabled parking, is on site; there are no public restrooms.

Serves: Los Angeles trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

Up to four tires a year per City household, with the rims removed; tires still on rims are turned away, and tires brought by commercial tire shops or auto mechanics are prohibited at all of the residential yards. On the monthly drop-off Saturdays the yard takes furniture, carpet, yard trimmings, shelving and wood. Extra Capacity Tags for overflow trash are sold at the district office here during the same weekday hours.

About this site

The yard is on Stoner Avenue in West Los Angeles, in the City of Los Angeles. The bulky item drop-off Saturdays still ahead in 2026 are October 10, November 21 and December 12; LASAN’s bulky item page gives those days as 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while its own event calendar lists the West LA dates as 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. LASAN held its first Open House at the West Los Angeles yard in 2003.

Rules at every LASAN district yard

All six district yards are for residents of the City of Los Angeles, and tire drop-off needs a state-issued photo ID and a current utility bill. The vehicle and quantity limits, the tag prices and the holiday closures are set for every yard alike: see LA Sanitation.
