US trash pickup schedules and local waste rules

Anderson Lane Convenience Center

Metro Nashville’s Madison convenience center, its busiest in 2024, for trash, recycling with glass and food scraps.

Anderson Lane Convenience Center, at 939A Anderson Ln in Madison, keeps hours of Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Metro’s 2024 report to the state counted 46,215 resident visits here, more than at any other Nashville convenience center. It is also the one center that turns away cargo vans and trailers bringing paid volume loads.

Serves: Nashville trash pickup and drop-off rules.

What this center takes and what it does not

Anderson Lane takes bagged trash, recycling including glass, food scraps, soiled paper and BPI-certified compostables in the compost bins, bulk items and scrap metal. It does not take household hazardous waste or tires, which Waste Services limits to East and Ezell Pike, or electronics, mattresses and box springs, which go to East, Ezell Pike or Omohundro. Construction and yard material is out as well: asbestos, brick, concrete, dirt, rock, brush and leaves, pallets and roofing shingles, along with fireworks, gas tanks and car parts.

About this site

The center sits at a Madison postal address; Metro’s CY2024 report to the state lists the same site as 939 Anderson Lane with a Nashville address, so the two official pages name the place differently. It operates under state convenience center permit CCC190000168. The only materials that report credits to Anderson Lane are recyclables (metal, aluminum, PET, HDPE, cardboard, mixed paper and glass), which matches the electronics, hazardous waste and mattresses the center sends elsewhere.

Rules at every Metro convenience center

All four centers are for Davidson County residents, who show a Tennessee driver’s license with a Davidson County address and unload their own loads. The fees, the vehicle limits and the Metro holiday closures that apply at every center are set out on the operator’s listing, Nashville Department of Waste Services.
