Holiday collection
Holiday-week changes as cities announce them: which routes slide, which run as usual, and where the calendar lives.

There is no national rule for holiday trash collection. Some cities slide the rest of the week by one day, some move only the routes that land on the holiday, and some run as usual. These stories report each city’s own holiday notice as it is posted, with the dates and the official calendar, and are retired once the holiday has passed.
Where to start
The standing holiday rule for every pilot city is on holiday collection changes, and each city edition carries its own: Phoenix slides only Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, Saint Paul slides every weekday holiday with Friday routes going Saturday, and Nashville moves only the day that lands on a Metro holiday. When an edition only has an official lookup, use the lookup in the two weeks around the holiday; States & Cities opens the rest.
